“…March 2010, aged 35, I have just had the season of my life (well, since I was about 19 anyway!!!) I have been picked for the Staffordshire ladies Cross country team, just won most improved female runner at the annual club presentation night and beaten my personnel bests at all distances. Ok, I’m not breaking world records and I think the 2012 Olympics might be just out of reach, but with a full time job, husband and two kids to also juggle, I don’t think I’ve done too bad.
Rewind 18 months and it was a totally different story. After being a decent junior runner, I knew I could potentially do well, but I was constantly plagued with sore IT bands, a dodgy knee and stiff back. Years of sporting abuse on my body was taking its toll. I could barely string three weeks of decent training together before an injury appeared. After numerous visits over the years, to various physios/therapist/podiatrists etc, I was still no better off – just poorer!!
Jan 2009 I spotted Sharons advertising and booked in for a massage as a bit of a treat. It was at this point that I was introduced to the Rossiter workout, when I got talking to Sharon about my injuries etc. I must admit I was a bit (very) sceptical, but as everything else had failed I had nothing to lose.
Well, from that point on I haven’t looked back. The Rossiter workout hasn’t made me a good runner – the training and hard work has done that. What the Rossiter workout has done however is allow me to train hard consistently and remain injury free. This in turn has helped my motivation, helped me to maintain my weight, and given me confidence, which have all impacted on my performance.
I would sincerely recommend the Rossiter workout to other runners as a great maintenance therapy, as well as for injuries. When I have a Rossiter workout before a race my legs just feel so light and I just fly through the miles.
